What we fix, day in and day out.
Desktops are more repairable than laptops — standard components, room to work, better cooling. Most issues are economically fixable with targeted parts replacement rather than full system replacement.
No power, no post
Systematic diagnosis: PSU test, motherboard check, CMOS reset, RAM/GPU reseat, minimum boot configuration. Usually identified within an hour of bench testing. Common root causes: dead PSU, failed motherboard capacitors, CMOS battery, faulty power button.
Random crashes & BSODs
Blue screens, unexpected restarts, freeze-ups. Could be RAM issues, driver conflicts, thermal problems, PSU insufficient for load, or failing storage. We stress-test each subsystem to isolate the actual cause.
Slow performance
Boot takes forever, applications lag, everything feels sluggish. On desktops with HDDs, this is almost always solved by SSD upgrade (₹4,000-8,000 usually). Occasionally RAM increase or malware cleanup.
Overheating & thermal throttling
System runs hot, fans loud, performance drops under load, shutdowns during heavy use. Common in 3-5+ year old desktops: dust buildup, dried thermal paste, failing case fans. Cleaning + repaste often restores original performance.
GPU / display issues
No display, artefacts, driver crashes, game crashes, DisplayPort/HDMI not detected. Could be GPU failure, driver issue, cable/port problem, or PSU inadequate for GPU. Common on older or heavily-used gaming systems.
Storage & drive failures
Slow drive access, disk errors, drive not detected, unexpected file corruption. HDDs eventually fail — we replace the drive, migrate the OS, recover data where possible. See data recovery for lost data.
Business, home, gaming — all covered.
Business desktops
Dell OptiPlex (all series), HP EliteDesk / ProDesk, Lenovo ThinkCentre, Acer Veriton, HCL, Wipro business desktops. Common in offices — often supported under our Computer AMC.
Workstations
Dell Precision, HP Z-series (Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8), Lenovo ThinkStation, custom workstation builds. Used by design studios, engineering firms, video production. Different repair considerations from consumer desktops.
Gaming PCs
Custom-built gaming rigs, prebuilt gaming systems (Alienware, MSI, ASUS ROG). NVIDIA/AMD graphics, RGB systems, custom cooling. Complex builds often benefit from professional diagnostic rather than component-swap trial-and-error.
Home desktops
Basic home systems for browsing, email, education, home office work. Often 5-10 years old but still functional — many just need SSD + RAM upgrade to feel new again.
Older systems
Desktops from 2015-2020 era. Often economically repairable with targeted upgrades. We give honest advice: sometimes repair makes sense, sometimes replacement does.
All-in-One PCs
Dell OptiPlex AIO, HP All-in-One, Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO, Apple iMac. Similar to laptop repair in complexity — components are integrated. Often board-level work required.
Before you replace it, consider repair + upgrade.
A 5-year-old business desktop often runs fine after SSD + RAM upgrade — for a fraction of new-desktop cost. We give honest advice about repair-vs-replace based on your actual usage and budget.
Repair + upgrade makes sense when:
- System is 3-7 years old with working motherboard/CPU
- Main complaint is slowness (fixed by SSD)
- Business software still runs adequately on the CPU
- Your workload is office productivity, not heavy computation
- Total upgrade cost is under 40% of replacement cost
Replacement makes sense when:
- System is 8+ years old with slow CPU
- Motherboard or CPU has failed
- Software requirements have outgrown the hardware
- Cumulative repair costs approach replacement cost
- Warranty and support benefits of new system matter
