Network Setup

Business network setup — cabling to VLANs.

Structured cabling, managed switches, wireless access points with proper coverage design, and VLAN segmentation. Cisco, HPE Aruba, Ubiquiti, TP-Link business — chosen based on your scale, budget and requirements.

What we deploy

Layers of a proper business network.

Business networks are more than "internet from the router." They're the foundation everything else runs on. Poor network foundation causes downstream problems in every application — slow file access, dropped VoIP, unstable video calls, security gaps.

Structured cabling

Cat6 or Cat6A cable to every workstation position, patch panels in network rack, proper labelling. Sized for 2-3 year growth, not just current headcount. Fiber runs where distance requires.

Managed switches

Business-grade managed switches with VLAN support, QoS, PoE where needed for APs and phones. Right-sized for current and expected growth. Layer 2 access + Layer 3 core for larger deployments.

Wireless coverage

Enterprise-grade access points with proper coverage design. Site survey for AP positioning. Guest network isolation. Roaming configuration for staff moving through the office. WiFi 6 / WiFi 6E where beneficial.

VLAN segmentation

Traffic isolation between departments, functions, security zones. Guests on isolated network. IoT devices segmented from business network. Accounting/HR on higher-security VLAN. Standard practice for 20+ seat offices.

Internet + failover

Primary ISP with sizing based on workload. Backup connectivity (secondary ISP or 4G/5G failover). Load balancing where multiple links needed. Firewall-driven failover for automatic switching.

Documentation

Network diagrams, IP addressing scheme (documented for growth), VLAN plan, patch panel mapping, credential vault. Kept updated as changes happen. You own your network documentation.

Network equipment vendors

Right-sized for your scale.

Cisco / HPE Aruba

Enterprise-grade networking. Extensive features, robust reliability, industry-standard training and documentation. Higher cost but best for larger deployments, complex requirements, or businesses with existing Cisco/Aruba ecosystems. Enterprise support contracts recommended.

Ubiquiti UniFi

SMB sweet spot. Managed switches, enterprise-quality access points, integrated management via UniFi Network Application. Good balance of features and cost for 20-100 seat offices. Popular with growing businesses.

TP-Link Omada (business)

Budget-friendly business networking. VLAN-capable managed switches, decent enterprise-grade APs, centralized management via Omada Controller. Suits smaller offices where budget is tight but home-grade WiFi isn't enough.

Choosing the right one

We recommend based on scale (5 seats vs 50 seats vs 500 seats), budget, complexity (basic office network vs multi-VLAN segmented environment), existing skills of any in-house IT, and specific requirements. Not sales commission-driven.

Common improvements

Fixing existing broken networks.

Sometimes the ask is "improve what we have" not "build from scratch." Common upgrades that dramatically improve existing networks:

Wireless coverage fix

Dead zones eliminated, dropped calls solved, roaming smooth. Site survey + proper AP positioning + enterprise-grade access points. Usually 3-6 APs for typical office space.

Cabling remediation

"Spaghetti behind the racks" cleaned up, proper cable management, patch panel installation, labelling. Makes future troubleshooting and changes far easier.

Switch upgrade

Replacing unmanaged switches with managed. Enables VLANs, better monitoring, PoE for APs/phones, longer warranty, faster port speeds.

VLAN implementation

Segmenting existing flat network into VLANs. Guest isolation, IoT segmentation, security zones, performance improvements. Requires managed switches and proper firewall.

Internet redundancy

Adding backup internet connection with automatic failover. Prevents complete internet outage from taking down the business. Firewall-driven failover with monitoring.

Full documentation

"Nobody knows how it's configured" is a real problem. Reverse-engineer existing network, document properly, prepare for smoother future changes and troubleshooting.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

What does business network setup include?

Structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A to every workstation), patch panel and network rack setup, managed switches, wireless access points with proper coverage design, VLAN configuration for department segmentation, business firewall integration, and complete network documentation with IP scheme and diagrams.

How is business networking different from home networking?

Business networking uses managed equipment (Cisco, HPE Aruba, Ubiquiti UniFi, TP-Link business) that supports VLANs, QoS, monitoring, centralized management. It scales to many devices, provides guest network isolation, integrates with business firewalls, and offers documented reliability. Home routers can't handle 25+ concurrent users or business security requirements.

How much does a business network cost?

Depends on scale. Small office 10-15 seats with basic setup: ₹80,000-2L. Mid-size office 30-40 seats with proper managed network: ₹3-6L. Larger office with structured cabling from scratch, server-grade switches, comprehensive wireless: ₹8-15L+. Written proposal after site survey.

What network brands do you work with?

Cisco (enterprise standard, extensive features), HPE Aruba (strong wireless, enterprise networking), Ubiquiti UniFi (good SMB value, easy management), TP-Link business Omada (budget-friendly SMB option). Vendor choice depends on scale, budget, existing skills, and specific requirements.

Do you handle wireless coverage design?

Yes. Wireless coverage design considers building materials (concrete walls block signal), user density per area, device types (phones vs laptops vs IoT), roaming requirements. Access point positioning based on coverage prediction, then verified with post-install site survey. Not just "put an AP in each corner."

Can you set up VLANs for our departments?

Yes. VLAN segmentation isolates traffic between departments/functions — accounts on one VLAN, engineering on another, guests on a third, IoT on a fourth. Security, performance, and troubleshooting benefits. Standard for any business network larger than ~20 seats.

Do you provide network monitoring?

Yes, under AMC and managed IT contracts. Continuous monitoring of switches, access points, firewall, internet uptime. Alerts on failures, high utilization, dropped uplinks. Historical trending for capacity planning.
