Every server failure has a diagnostic path.
Servers fail differently from desktops. Higher stakes (business downtime, data risk), more complex diagnostics (RAID, ECC, redundant components), and less room for error. Sixteen years of server work means we've seen most failure modes.
Emergency: Server won't boot
Business is down. Systematic diagnostic: check PSU/power, verify POST, check RAID array status, check boot device, review event logs from IPMI/iDRAC/iLO. Root cause identified typically within 1-3 hours. Recovery time depends on failure type.
Emergency: RAID array failed
Multiple disk failures, RAID controller failure, degraded array showing critical. Depending on RAID level and disk state — recovery via controller repair, disk imaging, or coordinated data recovery. Do not attempt DIY recovery on failed RAID arrays.
Disk failures & RAID rebuild
Predictive failure alerts, drive-not-detected, RAID degraded warnings. Replace failed drive(s), initiate rebuild, verify RAID health post-rebuild. Ongoing monitoring for cascading failures during rebuild window.
PSU failures
Complete PSU failure or one of a redundant pair. Hot-swap replacement where server supports it (most enterprise rack servers). Cold-swap replacement for tower servers and older units. Test remaining PSU health after single failure.
Memory (RAM) issues
ECC errors in logs, memory-related crashes, POST failures. Identify failed DIMM via IPMI diagnostics or manual testing, replace with matched module, verify stability. ECC RAM has specific sourcing requirements vs consumer memory.
Thermal & cooling failures
Fan failures (front, rear, PSU fans), dust accumulation over years causing thermal throttling, failed thermal sensors. Clean, replace failed fans, reapply thermal paste on CPUs if temperatures indicate need.
Multi-OEM authorized service capability.
Dell PowerEdge
Full range — Tower (T-series), Rack (R-series), Blade (M-series legacy), Modular (MX). iDRAC management, PERC RAID controllers, standard SAS/SATA/NVMe drives. Generations 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 (current). Both current-support and end-of-life systems.
HP ProLiant
DL-series rack, ML-series tower, BL-series blades (legacy), Synergy modular. iLO management, Smart Array RAID controllers. Gen9, Gen10, Gen10 Plus, Gen11 systems. HPE Aruba networking integration where applicable.
Lenovo ThinkSystem
SR-series rack servers, ST-series tower, SD-series dense compute. XClarity management, ServeRAID controllers. Newer ThinkSystem line and legacy System x systems from IBM heritage.
Supermicro & specialty
Supermicro (custom builds, common in SMB and design/rendering shops), Cisco UCS (blade and rack). Also handle older systems from IBM System x, Fujitsu, Acer AR series where clients still have them.
Both response models.
🚨 Emergency response
Server is down or degraded — call immediately. For AMC/managed IT clients, Priority Support Line kicks in with contract SLA. For non-contract businesses, we respond as fast as possible.

Don't email for server-down emergencies. Call.
Scheduled repair
Non-urgent server issues — predictive failure warnings, planned maintenance, upgrade work. Scheduled at mutually convenient time to minimize business disruption.
Coordinate via: Call, WhatsApp, or email.
Non-emergency work booked in during our standard hours.
