The technical work most Ahmedabad shops don't do.
When your laptop motherboard fails, most repair shops give you two options: replace the whole board (₹15,000-40,000+ depending on model) or replace the laptop. There's a third option: repair the specific failed component on the board. That's what we specialize in.
Power management repair
Failed power ICs, MOSFETs, voltage regulators. Common symptoms: no power, no charging, immediate shutdown after boot, intermittent power. Replaceable at component level — typically ₹4,000-9,000.
BGA rework
Ball Grid Array chip removal and replacement — GPUs, chipsets, memory controllers. Requires BGA rework station, precise thermal profiles, and skilled technique. Not something most shops attempt.
Capacitor replacement
Aged or blown surface-mount capacitors — common failure mode in older boards. Visual inspection under microscope, precise SMD rework. Often the root cause of intermittent boot issues.
Backlight IC repair
Common on MacBook Pro — screen works but no backlight, or "Bloomberg glow" symptom. Board-level fix (typically ₹4,000-7,000) instead of full logic board replacement (₹35,000+ from Apple).
USB-C / port controller
Charging port not detecting adapter, data not transferring, port physically broken. Board-side controller repair or port physical replacement (surface-mount, requires proper tools).
Liquid damage recovery
Post-liquid-damage board cleaning, corrosion removal, damaged component identification and replacement. Success depends on liquid type, exposure time, and immediate response — bring it in same-day for best odds.
Apple charges premium for logic board swaps. We often don't need to swap.
Apple's own service quotes for logic board replacement can be prohibitively expensive — often 60-80% of the laptop's original price. Component-level repair frequently brings this down substantially.
MacBook Pro (Intel)
Backlight IC failure ("Bloomberg glow"), T2 chip issues, USB-C port failures, keyboard flex tearing, SSD detection issues, no-power/no-boot diagnostics. All commonly repairable at component level on 2016-2020 MacBook Pro models.
MacBook Air (Intel)
USB-C charging failure, no-power issues, T2/SMC recovery, display issues from board-side. Component-level repair often 30-50% of full logic board swap cost.
MacBook M-series (M1, M2, M3)
Newer M-series MacBooks have highly integrated designs with limited component-level repair options — mostly USB-C, display connector and battery interface repair. Full logic board issues on M-series are usually board-swap only.
Older MacBook Pro (2011-2015)
Classic GPU reflow work for 15-inch discrete graphics models, capacitor replacement for aged systems, cleaning and revival of older-generation MacBooks. Often economically worthwhile for well-cared-for older machines.
Board-level repair is diagnostic-heavy, not just swap-heavy.
Symptoms & history
What went wrong, when, under what circumstances. Prior repair attempts. Data value. Sets diagnostic direction.
Diagnostic (2-6 hrs)
Under microscope, with multimeter and oscilloscope, sometimes thermal imaging. Isolating the specific failed component or power domain.
Firm quote
Repair cost + honest comparison with board replacement cost. If repair isn't economically better than replacement, we say so.
Repair (1-4 days)
Actual component-level rework. Time depends on complexity and parts sourcing (some components require ordering from specialist suppliers).
